Blackberries, New Investigator, and FINDING

Family and Friends,

 

This week has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was here at the library e-mailing home.  We have been staying very busy and the Lord has blessed us.  We focused a lot this week on working with the members.  We have been trying to emphasize the things from the June 23rd broadcast and see what we can do to help the members in their missionary efforts. We found two new potential investigators this week and I am really excited to see what can happen with both of them.  Also we were finally able to go back and see one of our previous potentials who we had a lesson with a couple weeks ago and set up another lesson so we can finally call him a new investigator!  Also we were out contacting people from previous missionaries potentials lists and after being rejected by one lady were getting ready to get back into our car when an older lady from Lebanon stopped and started talking to us.  She was going to deliver some blackberries to her neighbor but had us wait so she could talk to us when she got back from across the street. Once she got back she told us it was our lucky day because the neighbor wasn't home so she was going to give us the blackberries!  It was just a funny situation. She told us we could come back any time to talk to her so we hope to find a member of the ward to come with us and meet with her so she can have a friend in the ward and possibly become interested in the Gospel. It was the perfect thing to happen just after being so harshly rejected by her neighbor. It was a witness to me that the Lord will bless us when we diligently follow him.

 

We also had a great day at church yesterday.  Mike didn't come, but Henry, Richie, Sister Urbina, the Sherratts, Brother Shaw, Sister Ting and a lady from Taiwan (who brought 5 non member students) did come so I would say it was a successful sacrament meeting!  Richie was ordained a priest a couple weeks ago and was up front observing as the young men performed the sacrament so he can do it next week and Henry came with his hair cut, earings out and a tie! It is just so incredible to see these people change and become more Christlike every day as they keep the commandments. I am so grateful to have the opportunity every week to partake of the sacrament and renew my covenants.  It is such an incredible blessing in my life. I have learned so much about the Atonement over the past two months and I can now bear a strong testimony that change is possible and it only comes through the Atonement of Christ.

 

Thanks for all your support and love. I know this is where the Lord needs me and He helps and guides me daily. One scripture that has been on my mind a lot the last couple days is Alma 37:17. The Lord will always fulfill His promises.
